why are you dressed so scary?
June 6, 2010 at 1:19 PM It's only June and I'm already thinking about Halloween this year. My boyfriend, a few of our good friends, and I really get into the holiday, going as far as to splurge on custom contact lenses alone (that would be my boyfriend Ron... and myself). The last two Halloweens were good, though last year was one of the best when it came to the creativity and effort Ron & I put into perfecting our alter egos for the night. This was the result:

the ventriloquist dummy & the porcelain doll
(my dress is Anna Sui for Target)
Not too shabby, eh? Ron's costume is similar to the look of Jigsaw from 'Saw.' I, on the other hand, was going for a creepy porcelain doll, but now that I think of it, my costume is somewhat reminiscent of Bette Davis in 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?' (photo below)... don't you think?
(After watching this movie, I was thankful to have only a brother.)
Ron is AMAZING when it comes to costume make-up and applying prosthetics. He's good at drawing to begin with, so the make-up part is more or less just applying what he already knows about drawing... but on... his face. Prosthetics are another story and something I've no patience in learning. He's constantly checking out the products on Scream Team and has been dying to put prosthetics on me as well. I want to, but I've been scared to try due to my terribly sensitive skin ("Pro-acne" as I like to call it). Make-up is as far as I'll go for now. This year, we and our friends are planning to throw a Halloween party rather than go out to a bar or lounge. Ron's cousin Mark had a brilliant idea about what our group of friends, as the hosts of the party, should be... seriously, it couldn't be more perfect...

And guess who I'm going to be...

Already looking for the dress. So far, I've been checking out random sites that sell Lolita dresses. I've got awhile to work on this, but I'm so stoked. I hope the end result of my take on the White Queen will make Tim Burton proud.
